Wednesday, Sept. 14

PHOTO DIARY ASSIGNMENT: What is it to go fast? What is it to play? Photograph people / objects going fast - Attempt to get the decisive moment when someone is about to do something...think about it as a composition. Where the photograph the most interesting? Look through that view finder...move around while shooting. Do not stand in the same spot and wait for something to happen. Rule of thirds like crazy!!

IN CLASS ASSIGNMENT: Study your equivalent exposure sheets and be able to find adjustments when needed. Remember the hashmark direction and move accordingly. You will have a quick quiz on Wednesday, also memorize those camera and enlarger parts. Start shooting for your assignment. Use the rules that you know to help you compose your frame and alter the motion that you are capturing (i.e. stop, blur and panning). Remember that you are going to probably need a couple rolls to do this assignment correctly...so please don't stress. You are just getting to know your camera and your camera is getting to know you. Be nice and it will be nice back. Please bring your photos from the Photo Challenge to class for Wednesday and we will discuss photograms in there as well so please leave them up. Those of you interested in an easier way to get photos to class check out www.dropbox.com. It's free and you can access it easily from the photohouse!
