Tuesday, Nov. 15

For Tuesday - no homework but please bring your film cameras to class on Monday as well as your digital. We will have an in class assignment. The assignment of street shooting will be due after thanksgiving break - we will give you enough time to do the lab. We will set the official due date on Tuesday after talking it out. I'm so sorry that we didn't end up getting the extra time to shoot on Thursday, but it was a fun field trip. Yeah for the Robinson Archive! I will be bringing a thank you note for us to make out to send to them for their great tour.

Thursday, Nov. 10

Hi guys,

PLEASE FILL OUT YOUR HORIZON'S REGISTRY FOR THE FIELD TRIP. CAN'T GO WITHOUT IT.

Also if you would like to get your grade sheet back from the last project just stop on by my office or the graphics lab tomorrow. I'm sorry I've forgotten to give them to you for a couple of class periods. So sorry things get pushed to the bottom of the bag and they never come up for air. So is the life of professor mom - can find the wet wipe but never all the assignment sheets.

For THURSDAY

Bring about $20 for the day. Should give you plenty of padding. We will be meeting up at 8 am at the photohouse. Drive to exit 56 go to the Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge. I'll meet you at the watchtower area around the lake at 8:30 am. Bring your digital camera. Bring your film camera and about two rolls of film. We will take pictures at the Hatchie and then head downtown to Beale St. area to shoot film. From there we will head back down to midtown to the Brooks to see the Eggleston work.

Please read an essay of your choice by him about his work. http://www.egglestontrust.com/. Amanda - there is one on him by Eudora Welty that is a great read. From one literary giant to a photography giant:)

Tuesday, November 1, 2016 - campus and community day

Please shoot your photo diary in the style of Oak Thitayrak

http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2011/04/seen-on-the-streets-of-chicago-an-interview-with-oak-thitayarak/

One image you are hunting / tracking for a subject for your funny face
One image you are sitting / waiting for your subject to come across your frame for your funny face.

Put both images in the dropbox for Tuesday.

I TOTALLY FORGOT WE HAVE CAMPUS AND COMMUNITY DAY ON TUESDAY. No class - Go be part of our community. Start thinking about what you might be interested in shooting for the street assignment. What are you looking for as a theme for your roll. We will hit a street shoot hard on Thursday so come prepared with your larger cameras if you have them in digital (if not no big deal can shoot on phone.)
