Make a City

Your assignment for Thursday is to use illustrator to make a city. Explore more buttons and functions. Please save this file in your art house / personal folder and not on the desktop. See what you can come up with the more detail the better. Please have a story that accompanies the piece (futuristic, present day, who lives here what do they do), The can just be in your head and not written down, but keep it in mind when you present on Thursday.

Also for those that are interested...Think Tank deadline had been extended especially for all of you! You can sign up for dues on the national site...www.aiga.org / join us / student button. Then once you have your ID sign up for think tank on www.thinktanknashville.com under the student rate. The new deadline is Sept. 5th.

Wednesday, August 31

Please send you photographs in a jpeg format to mposey@uu.edu. You can package them or send them individually. We will review these in class on Wednesday. For Wednesday, please read the photograms reading and review camera basics handout. You will need to bring photogram objects to print from. Again please remember not to get anything to sloppy (i.e. juicy fruits, etc) but look for things with variances of transparency to them and think about compositions. Some of you forgot your special photos in the classroom yesterday. Don't worry they are still safely tucked in the classroom. You can pick them up on Wednesday. For the Wednesday class session following Labor Day, you will need to have the camera parts down and review the history lesson handout from today for a quiz.

Welcome to class!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Photography I. This will be one of your best guides to keeping up with assignments during this course. Look here for inspiration, thoughts and assignments. You can find your supply list on www.freestylephoto.biz/get_sl.php. Class code is 62804. Also for class on Monday, please bring a photo that is meaningful to you in some way. This could be a picture that you have taken or a professional photographer in history has taken. Be prepared to discuss why this means something to you. Please be sure to bring your digital point and shoot to class for Monday.

Here is the list of events for the art department for the semester. You need to attend 75% of these - this means five events for the semester. I will get you a list of senior shows that you can attend as soon as it comes out.
